Flux Factory in Long Island City will open its newly renovated gallery, Flux IV, during an art auction gala scheduled for November 7. The event marks the public debut of a facility that took more than ten years to plan and build. The gallery serves as a permanent community asset, with its programs funded directly through the proceeds of the annual art auction.

The auction features works from a diverse group of artists spanning painting, sculpture, and photography. The online bidding process began on November 1. Participants can browse the inventory and place bids before the live event. The lineup includes established names such as Mark Dion, Mary Mattingly, and Richard Garet. It also features emerging creators like Alex Nathanson, Alison Ward Heinemeier, and Angela Washko.

The organization has selected two collaborators to serve as guests of honor for the evening. sTo Len and Tara Sansone, who work together, will receive recognition for their contributions to the arts community. They are currently the Executive Director of Materials for the Arts. The two will discuss their recent and upcoming projects during a panel discussion.

Natalia Nakazawa will moderate the conversation with the guests of honor. Nakazawa is both an artist and a board member at Flux Factory. The event is scheduled to run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 56-21 2nd St in Long Island City. The venue is the newly opened Flux IV space. This gathering coincides with the official launch of the renovated facility for the community.

The auction lineup includes nearly fifty distinct artists. Names such as Caitlin & Misha, Christopher Ulivo, and Dana Sherwood appear on the list alongside others like Iván Argote and Jevijoe Vitug. The range of mediums reflects the broad scope of the Flux community. The event aims to celebrate this collective while establishing the new gallery as a lasting institution in the neighborhood.
