Eric Dane’s memoir, My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, releases on November 3, exactly eight months after the actor died from ALS at age 53. The publication date coincides with the one-year anniversary of his final public appearances, though his death occurred on February 19, 2026.

Dane began writing the manuscript in the months following his diagnosis in 2023. He continued working on the text until his death. The book is structured as a series of days, where each entry illuminates a defining experience or emotional truth from his career. Topics range from his early years in Hollywood to his journey to sobriety and his ALS diagnosis.

Jacob Elordi narrates the audiobook version of the memoir. Elordi played Nate Jacobs, the on-screen son of Dane’s character Cal Jacobs, in all three seasons of the HBO series Euphoria. The pairing serves as a nod to what the publisher described as Dane’s profound work on the show. Maria Shriver also lends her voice to the audiobook. Shriver’s imprint, The Open Field, is publishing the memoir.

The book extends beyond Dane’s personal history to address future days meant for his daughters, Billie, 16, and Georgia, 15. The synopsis describes the work as a lasting guide to cherishing time. It argues that most people do not think in days but should, because each day is both a story and a gift. Shriver stated that Dane wanted his family to know how much he loved them. She said he wanted to leave them a story they could be proud of.

The audiobook has a run time of five hours and 53 minutes. It is available on Audible. New subscribers can access the book through a free one-month trial of the Premium Plus service. The trial includes one credit that can be used on any book in the catalog. If a subscriber cancels the membership, the chosen book remains available to them. The hardcover and e-book versions are also available on the release date.

Shriver, 70, said she was honored that Dane chose her imprint for publication. She noted that the announcement came in the days following his death. The memoir serves as a record of his life and a guide for his family to remember him. The release marks the final chapter in a project that spanned nearly three years from diagnosis to publication.
