Police in Queensland are investigating a shooting that left four people injured at a Loganholme venue on Saturday evening.

Officers responded to a call at Fitzys Loganholme on Bryants Road at 8:15 p.m., following reports that a vehicle had discharged firearms in the parking area. Authorities stated that a vehicle observed leaving the scene was involved in the incident. The four individuals who sustained wounds were transported to a local hospital, where medical staff were assessing their condition. The venue had been scheduled to host the Logan City Titles Fight Night that evening.

Deputy Commander Chris Stream of the Queensland Police Service characterized the scene as confronting during a segment on the Today show, confirming that several people had been struck by gunfire. Local officials reacted with alarm regarding the violence. Logan Mayor Jon Raven stated that residents in the area were frightened by the event. He noted that the incident sent a shockwave through the community, adding that Logan had never seen anything like it before.

Mayor Raven extended his concerns to the victims, the venue staff, and those attending the event. He remarked that he had attended similar evenings in the past and found them to be family-friendly gatherings where many children were present. He added that the experience would likely affect those children for the remainder of their lives.

The mayor further explained that the evening had been organized with the specific purpose of steering children away from violence. He stated that the organizer would be devastated by the outcome because he uses boxing to empower and reconnect young people who may be going off the rails. Raven noted that this incident is the opposite of what the organizer would want to see. Logan City Titles issued a statement on Sunday morning expressing heartbreak over the incident. The organizers described the event as a community gathering meant to showcase local talent and hard work. They added that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the broader community.

The offenders remain at large. Police stated that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact them.
