The Jaguars overwhelmed the Colts on a rainy Sunday in Jacksonville, winning 42-7 to extend their home winning streak against Indianapolis to 12 games. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes in the blowout victory.

The defeat came just five days after the Colts initiated a major roster overhaul. Indianapolis traded defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and veteran guard Quenton Nelson to accelerate its rebuilding process. The franchise also fired general manager Chris Ballard last month, and reports indicate the team is open to moving star running back Jonathan Taylor.

Lawrence capitalized on the Colts' defensive struggles early in the game. He connected with receiver Brian Thomas Jr. for a score, a play that drew attention given Thomas Jr.'s recent placement on the bench. Lawrence also found Bhayshul Tuten on a third-quarter screen and hit rookie Nate Boerkircher on a 31-yard pass during a first half filled with high-impact plays for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars built their dominant lead before the break. Rayuan Lane returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown with 10 seconds left in the second quarter. Tuten added a 39-yard rushing score in which he broke three tackles. The 28-0 halftime advantage marks the third-largest lead at that point in the franchise's history.

The Colts' offense struggled to gain ground. Running back Jonathan Taylor was held to 23 yards on eight carries. He also fumbled the ball during a poorly executed play. The Colts' run defense may face further issues, as tackle DaVon Hamilton suffered what appeared to be a severe right knee injury in the second quarter. Hamilton was removed from the field on a cart and left the game minutes later.

The Jaguars improved to a 5-2 record with the win. The Colts fell to 2-6. The result caps a turbulent week for Indianapolis, which has traded two key starters and lost its general manager within a short span.
