Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh signaled his intent to keep offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel in charge of the offense following a 24-9 defeat by the Rams on Sunday. The loss dropped the Chargers to 0-7 and marked the second consecutive game in which the team failed to score a touchdown.

Harbaugh told reporters during his postgame press conference that the coaching staff recognizes the problems with the unit. He stated, "We’re aware of what the issues are, and we’re the only ones that can fix them." When asked if he was specifically aware of those issues, Harbaugh replied, "Yes, I’m not gonna address anything; I’m focused on this game and that’s my focus."

Reporters pressed Harbaugh on the decision to retain McDaniel after seven losses. The head coach explained that the team’s motivation is a dedication to getting the offense changed and fixed. He added, "You’ve asked, and I think I’ve answered the question, so."

The Chargers entered the game with the league's lowest scoring offense, averaging 15 points per contest. The team is tied with the Browns, Seahawks, Vikings, and Commanders for the worst red zone efficiency, converting on 50% of opportunities in that area.

Cameron Dicker provided all nine of the Chargers' points with three successful field goals. A late second-quarter drive ended without points when Justin Herbert threw a deep pass to Ladd McConkey. McConkey secured the ball for a 54-yard reception but fell short of the end zone by one yard.

Herbert completed 24 of 32 passes for 257 yards. He threw two interceptions and was sacked twice. The running game produced 64 total yards. Kimani Vidal led the rushers with 23 yards on eight carries, while Omarion Hampton added 20 yards on nine attempts.
