The Roseville Raiders closed out their regular season on Friday night with a decisive 24-14 victory over Coon Rapids. This win secured the Metro Maroon subdistrict title for the program and marked a significant milestone in their recent history. The result ended a difficult stretch for the team, which finished the campaign with a 4-4 record. That standing represents their best performance since 2017, signaling a potential turning point for the school.

Senior quarterback Chase Browning led the offensive effort with a strong showing. He threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns to power the win. The performance allowed the players to celebrate a season defined by hard work and perseverance. Browning expressed the team's relief and joy in the aftermath of the final whistle.

"It's an amazing feeling," Browning said. "I don't even have words for it. We've all worked so hard. It's great to see it finally paying off." His comments highlighted the collective effort required to reach this moment. The victory provided a strong foundation as the team prepares for the postseason.

Elsewhere in the league, Centennial dominated Anoka with a 38-6 score. This result effectively locks in a No. 3 seed for the Cougars in the Class 6A playoffs. It also positions them as a serious contender for a deep run into November. For Anoka, the six points allowed were a rare occurrence, as they had not been held to single digits all season.

In the Metro East subdistrict, Mounds View claimed sole possession of the title with a narrow 22-16 win over White Bear Lake. The Mustangs trailed by two points before mounting a late comeback. Quarterback Tanner Jude scored on a one-yard run with 65 seconds remaining to put them ahead. A successful two-point conversion extended the lead to six points. Preston Johnson intercepted a pass on the Bears' final possession to seal the victory. The Mounds View defense limited White Bear Lake quarterback Wyatt Stachowiak to just six completions on 24 attempts.

East Ridge wrapped up a season that likely did not meet expectations with a 42-31 win against rival Woodbury. Logan Tretter ran for two touchdowns to provide the bulk of the offensive production. Elias Mather added a late score by returning an interception for a touchdown. That play put the game out of reach for the visitors. Forest Lake also locked in a No. 2 seed with a 31-13 victory over Stillwater. Running back Mack Jurkovich was the standout performer, rushing for 245 yards and two touchdowns.

Jurkovich, who has committed to St. Thomas, ended the regular season with 1,600 rushing yards. His performance cemented his status as one of the top individual players in the state. In another notable game, Park defeated Eastview 18-10. Junior receiver Manny Vargas scored twice for the Wolfpack. He caught a touchdown pass and also returned a punt 75 yards for a score.

The most dramatic finish of the night occurred in the south metro. Lakeville South sophomore kicker Dylan Nelson kicked a 36-yard field goal with one second remaining. The successful attempt gave the Cougars a 17-14 upset victory over Rosemount. This surprising result complicates the seeding picture for the Class 6A playoffs in that region. It serves as a reminder that the regular season can end in unexpected ways, setting the stage for an intriguing postseason.

As the regular season concludes, the East Metro teams face a mix of high expectations and new challenges. Roseville's title run and Centennial's strong finish set a high bar for the upcoming weeks. Meanwhile, teams like Mounds View and Forest Lake have secured favorable positions in the bracket. The coming weeks will determine which programs can sustain their momentum and which will falder in the pressure of elimination games.
