OnePlus has begun pushing stable Android 17 updates to the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 in India. The rollout starts on October 23, which is seven days earlier than the company’s original timeline. This first wave marks the official end of OxygenOS, as these two devices are the first to transition to ColorOS.

OxygenOS served as OnePlus’s customized interface for years. It started as a lightweight layer over stock Android but evolved into a global version of Oppo’s ColorOS. The company announced the phase-out of OxygenOS when it scaled back most of its global operations. Existing devices were scheduled to receive ColorOS updates as part of that consolidation.

The software had been in beta for several months. The stable release makes it available to general users in India. OnePlus framed the update around AI integration and fluid interactions. The company stated, “ColorOS 17 is here, bringing a new wave of smarter experiences, smoother interactions, and more ways to make your phone work around you.” The update is branded as “Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere,” aiming to reduce friction between tasks and devices.

Only the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 are included in this initial group. Other confirmed devices, including previous flagships and Nord models, will follow. The OnePlus 13 is scheduled for the next wave on October 30. The company has not confirmed specific dates for other regions, though updates are expected to arrive in the coming days.

This software shift occurs after a period of operational changes for the brand. Reports indicate that the OnePlus 15 and other models sold out in the United States following the shutdown of most global operations. OnePlus has also introduced the OnePlus 16, which features a 9,000 mAh battery.

The early release in India suggests a faster pace for the global rollout. The company’s original plan placed the first updates on October 29. By moving the date to October 23, OnePlus is delivering the stable build to Indian users before the rest of the world.
