Wyatt Kaiser broke the deadlock in the third period to secure a 2-1 victory for the Chicago Blackhawks against the Los Angeles Kings.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Chicago, which now stands at 3-4-0 on its current seven-game home stand. Los Angeles concluded a 3-2-0 road trip with the defeat.

Samuel Helenius opened the scoring at 2:31 in the first period. Following a shot by Jared Wright that slipped past Spencer Knight, Helenius poked the puck home for his first goal of the season. The Kings held a 1-0 lead until the second period. Joel Armia drew penalties for tripping and interference, giving Chicago a double-minor. Roman Kantserov capitalized on the power play, scoring at 16:40 on a setup from Connor Bedard. It marked Kantserov's fifth goal of the season.

Kaiser tied the game at 7:17 in the third period. He beat Anton Forsberg with a shot through the goaltender's legs from the left circle. Kaiser recorded his first goal of the season and the 11th of his career in 187 games. Knight stopped 25 shots for Chicago, while Forsberg faced 25 shots for Los Angeles.

Chicago played without defenseman Bowen Byram, who is on his fifth consecutive game out with an upper-body injury. Los Angeles rested captain Drew Doughty and forward Corey Perry after their 6-3 win over the New York Rangers on Monday. The Blackhawks have converted 4 of 39 power-play chances this season, a 10.3% rate compared to 16.9% last year.

Both teams return to the ice on Thursday night. The Kings will host the Ottawa Senators, while the Blackhawks travel to face the Detroit Red Wings.
