Hudson Valley Restaurant Week begins today with fixed-price menus at more than 50 restaurants in Westchester County.

The two-week event covers 23 towns, cities, and villages. Diners choose from lunch and dinner options priced at $24.95, $29.95, $39.95, or $44.95. Taxes, beverages, and gratuity are not included in those totals.

Westchester County Tourism and Film Director Natasha Caputo said the initiative encourages visitors to extend day trips into overnight stays. She noted that the region offers hotels and seasonal activities beyond dining. County Executive Ken Jenkins described the event as a key driver for local visibility. He said the festival supports small businesses and hospitality professionals who sustain the local economy.

Industry leaders connected the event to regional economic data. In 2025, visitor spending in Westchester reached $2.53 billion. That figure accounted for 45% of all visitor spending in the Hudson Valley. Tourism supported more than 22,000 hospitality jobs in the county. Food and beverage sales generated $932 million in economic activity during that period.

MTA Metro-North Railroad President Justin Vonashek highlighted rail access as a practical benefit. He stated that stations serve as gateways for riders to reach local chefs and farmers. He added that dependable, car-free travel supports sustainable growth for the businesses in those towns.

Robert Rechtermann, General Manager of Sonesta White Plains Downtown, welcomed guests to the property’s Whisk restaurant. He cited the venue’s Mix Cocktail Bar and Kitchen as central to the experience. Executive Chef Ramon Perez created a fall menu inspired by roasted squash, orchard pears, warm spices, and baked apples. His dishes included sweet potato gnocchi with duck confit ragù and salmon with pomegranate glaze.

Lauren Buerger, Associate Publisher of Hudson Valley Magazine, said the event reveals hidden dining gems. She noted that menus feature fresh local ingredients. Sean Meade, President of the Westchester Hotel Association, said the county’s visitor numbers reflect its appeal to leisure and business travelers. He added that hotels offer globally inspired cuisine and signature hospitality. The event runs for two weeks. More information is available at hvmag.com/events/restaurant-week.
