Fi is selling its satellite-connected pet trackers at a 30 percent discount through October 25. Shoppers can apply the code SCARY at checkout to reduce the price of several models. The Fi Ultra GPS tracker drops to $209.30, matching the device's initial launch price.
The company describes the Fi Ultra as the first dog tracker to combine T-Satellite, Starlink, GPS, and LTE connectivity. This mix allows the device to locate pets even in areas without cellular service. The unit features an IP68 rating, making it fully waterproof in saltwater. Battery life lasts up to five days, though activity levels affect performance.
The tracker clips onto a collar or harness. It can play sounds and vibrate to alert a dog to its location. Fi offers six-month, one-year, and two-year subscription plans for the tracking features. A one-year plan costs $99 for the first year and $189 for each subsequent year. The service operates only in the United States, with no satellite coverage in Alaska.
Earlier this year, The Verge tested the device in a remote area of South Carolina. The report noted that tracking was precise, though update intervals of two to three minutes may lag for fast-moving animals. Battery life in Lost Mode lasted barely two days on a full charge. The company suggests the unit is better suited for larger dogs due to its size.
Other technology deals are available online. Amazon lists a physical copy of Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2 at $48.99, a drop from the standard $69.99 price. The game includes character and kart customization options.
The JLab JBuds Talk USB-C microphone is priced at $24.99 at Amazon, well below its typical range of $50 to $100. It provides four directional modes and a 96KHz/24-bit sample rate for voice recordings.
Lego’s Star Wars Grogu set is listed at $103.99, which is $26 off the regular price and its lowest recorded cost. The 1,200-piece kit includes a satchel and interchangeable facial features. A built-in lever allows builders to turn the figure’s head.
