Los Angeles Clippers in-arena host Hannah Cormier has responded to a viral video that captured her walking away from a camera while a distinct flatulence sound played in the background. The clip circulated across social media platforms on Thursday, sparking immediate debate about whether the noise was authentic or an added effect.
Cormier, who is beginning her 11th season with the Clippers organization, addressed the controversy directly. She stated that the sound was not produced by her but was created by the individual who uploaded the video. According to her account, the user generated the audio to increase the stakes and entertainment value of the clip.
In an exclusive statement provided to the California Post, Cormier offered a concise defense of her innocence. “All stars are made of gas, but I’m innocent,” she said. The statement clarified her position after the video gained widespread attention online.
The host also posted a video to her Instagram account to further address the incident. She displayed a screenshot of the initial report while speaking to her followers. “They say any press is good press. I didn’t fart!” she said. She acknowledged the common trope that denial implies guilt, noting that the sound resembled a whoopee cushion.
Cormier has served as the in-arena host and MC for seven seasons. The viral moment occurred during her recent walk off the court. The dispute centers on the origin of the audio track accompanying her movement in the footage.
The Clippers organization did not issue a separate statement regarding the incident. Cormier’s response stands as the primary official account from the team’s front-of-house staff regarding the specific audio anomaly in the video.
