Real Madrid secured its sixth consecutive victory in official matches on Sunday by defeating Racing de Santander 0-3 at El Sardinero. The win under head coach Jose Mourinho capped a strong run that restored team confidence following early season uncertainty.
The streak began at the Santiago Bernabéu with a 1-0 victory over Villarreal. Yan Diomande scored the decisive goal in that match. Vinícius received a four-match suspension during the same period. The team then won away games against Roma (4-3), Barcelona (2-1), and Racing (3-0). They also recorded home victories against Sevilla (4-1) and RB Leipzig (4-1).
This success came after a loss in the derby against Atlético de Madrid prior to the international break. That defeat had raised questions about the squad's form. The current winning sequence has stabilized the roster before the next international window opens.
The club now faces a demanding travel schedule. Real Madrid will visit AEK of Athens in the Champions League on Wednesday. They will then travel to Valencia for a LaLiga match on Saturday. These fixtures follow the same pattern that tested the team exactly one year ago.
On November 1, 2025, the squad then managed by Xabi Alonso also won six straight games. Those victories included wins over Kairat Almaty, Villarreal, Getafe, Juventus, Barcelona, and Valencia. The team subsequently lost momentum between November and December of that year.
In the eight matches following that previous streak, the team won only twice. They lost the LaLiga lead to Barcelona. They also dropped to seventh place in the Champions League standings after losses to Liverpool, Celta, and Manchester City. The current squad uses that recent history as a benchmark for maintaining performance levels.
